I decided to build my own manometer. You will need the following supplies:
14 feet plastic tubing. I bought it at Ace Hardware, it is marked as 1/4" OD x .170" ID
Yard stick or 3-4 foot board
Clear packing tape
Line restrictors (optional, but recommended)
Port Adapters, depending on your bike. 5mm thread for Honda.
Automatic Transmission Fluid
Build the manometer as pictured below. Make sure you do not crimp the loop in the bottom. Some people use a
"T", but I found that the loop worked fine. Make sure both ends are the same length. Attach with clear
packing tape. Fill with ATF about 8-9 inches on both sides. Let sit overnight to settle.
Put the line restrictors in the hoses. It doesn't matter which way they go, but make sure both
are going the same way and are the same depth in the hoses.
Install port adapters on motorcycle when it is warm. Wear gloves so that you don't burn yourself.
Attach hoses to port adapters. A service manual is a great help at this point.
Start bike, DO NOT REV IT.
When I first started mine, I had to hit the kill switch because they were so far off the fluid was
almost pulled into the front carb. Make a very small adjustment to the screw, and try again.
