In July of 2004, we bought a 2004 Honda Shadow Spirit. I've been using it to save gas going back and forth to work and we have been riding it together on weekends. I'm really glad we bought the bike, it's been a whole lot of fun. Clicking on the links will take you to photos.

Our bike

  • Before Custom Paint - June 2005 - At this time, the bike looked basically the way it did when we bought it. The previous owner had already added saddlebags and some extra chrome.
  • Custom Paint - July 2005 - The factory paint wasn't that great. I was talking to Steve Minter, who has his own spraybooth and has painted many cars and motorcycles. He wanted to try a custom flame paint job, and I wanted one. Everything came out great! The flames look good, and the base coat is a whole lot better than the factory one was. If anyone wants to talk to Steve about getting their bike painted, he does them very reasonably. Please E-mail me and I will be happy to put you in touch with him. The pictures do not do this paint job justice.
  • Sage Brush Engine Guard Chaps - October 2005 - I like to ride until it is just too cold to ride anymore. I contacted Chris to get a set of Engine Guard Chaps, and couldn't be happier. So far the have kept my feet warm in 40° weather and dry in the rain. Visit http://www.sagebrushdesigns.ca for more information on these great chaps.
  • Turn Signal Relocation and Conversion - December 2005 - I needed as much light as possible for people to be able to see me. I also needed to relocate the turn signals so they weren't pushing into the saddlebags.
  • Headlight Modulator - April 2006 - I'm doing whatever I can to be seen. This is the easiest upgrade that I have done so far.
